Frequently asked questions

How is Dogs Away different from Google Maps, Yelp or Rover?
Rover connects you with sitters who board dogs in their own homes. Map and review sites list every kind of business at once. Dogs Away lists only dog boarding and daycare businesses, and it puts the things you would otherwise call to ask in one place: what a night costs, whether someone is there overnight, which vaccines your dog needs, and whether you can watch on camera.
What does the Dogs Away score mean?
It is a 0–10 rating based on what past customers say. Higher is better. A score backed by hundreds of reviews is more reliable than one backed by a handful, so check the review count next to it.
How much does dog boarding cost?
It depends on the city. The typical nightly rate runs from $43 in Columbus to $85 in San Francisco. Each city page shows the local typical rate, and 2,307 places show their prices on their listing.
What should I ask before I book?
Ask whether a person is on site overnight, which vaccines are required and how far ahead, how dogs are grouped for play, what happens if a dog is hurt, and what the total cost is with any holiday or extra-dog fees. Each listing shows which of these the facility already answers.
